ENGAGE Civic Leadership Series to Enhance Skills of Emerging Professionals

The Black Professionals Foundation has launched a professional development series known as ENGAGE!, to prepare the next generation of civic leaders in Northeast Ohio minority communities.

The purpose of the ENGAGE Civic Leadership Series is to offer training, development and guidance to minority professionals who have an interest in serving in a civic leadership capacity, as an elected official or as a nonprofit board member in Northeast Ohio.

Whether through board service, as a public official or by way of committee membership, it takes a certain level of understanding and knowledge to be an effective leader within the public sector.

A growing number of minority young professionals have interest in civic leadership, but lack the basic knowledge of parliamentary procedure, the role of of committees and volunteer boards, as well as how to lead strategically instead of operationally.
